Provide customer service support at the Adult and Children's desks at the Stanford L. Warren Branch Library. Work is performed under the supervision of the Stanford L. Warren Branch Manager. Although position is based at the Stanford L. Warren Branch Library, may be asked to work at other locations. Must be available to work nights and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Check materials in and out
• Answer questions and/or route patron inquiries
• Register customers for library cards
• Generate various reports using library's software programs
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service in a team-based environment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Should possess excellent customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Functional skills.
• Physical strength of push fully loaded book carts and lift moderate weights.
• Ability to work pleasantly and effectively with people of all ages.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships with staff and customers.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education and Experience:

Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least one year of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to speak Spanish preferred
• Currently enrolled in Library school
