Overview
General:
The M.C. Dean, Inc. Maritime Division works at shipyards around the world from our regional offices in Jacksonville, FL, Chesapeake, VA, and San Diego, CA. Become a key member of our Alteration Installation Teams, supporting C4ISR system installations on ships and submarines. Minimum Education:
\n - High School Diploma or GED
\n - Vocational trade school or similar job requiring mechanical aptitude and skill
\n
\n
Experience: 0-2 Years
- Previous position requiring good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
\n
Abilities:
\n - Works with a team supporting cabling, equipment, and device installations
\n - Learn to read and understand U.S. Navy ship installation drawings, diagrams, blueprints, and cable running sheets.
\n - Learn to use hand tools and test equipment
\n - Learn leadership skills
\n - Learn superior workmanship in a mission-critical environment

Physical Requirements and Safety Certifications:
\n - Occupation Safety Haz-Mat
\n - Shipyard Competent Person
\n - Aloft/Climbing / Climbing Shipyard Stairs and Ladders
\n - Working in Confined Spaces
\n - Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
\n - Safely Lift and Move Objects of up to 50 LBS
\n
\n
Security and Work Locations:
\n - Work is primarily in Jacksonville, FL but you may travel for extended periods to other shipyards in the USA and to other Navy ports outside the USA
\n - Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; eligibility for clearance is required.
\n - You must pass a background investigation
\n - You must have a valid driver's license
\n - This position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle. Selected candidates must possess an acceptable driving record in accordance to our policy.

\n - Work overtime upon management request
\n - Maintain and safeguard company equipment and tools
\n - Maintain and safeguard inventory

Physical Requirements:
\n - Lifts at least 100 pounds at one time and 60 pounds for an extended period of time.
\n - Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
\n - Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.
\n - Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.
\n - Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
\n - May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.
\n - Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.
\n - Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
\n - Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
\n - See details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
