Job Description and Duties

LCI’s Communications and External Affairs Branch oversees and manages all aspects of communications, including media relations, stakeholder/external as well as internal communications, social media and web content development. Under the direction of LCI’s Deputy Director of Communications and External Affairs, the Staff Service Analyst (SSA) performs duties requiring analytical skills, effective oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of applicable communications software, writing styles, and online platforms. The Comms & Outreach Analyst works in a team environment, exercising initiative in performing assigned tasks. The SSA researches and analyzes media/outreach inquiries and responds to program teams ensuring all responses are accurate.

The position also requires working effectively with staff in the Communications and External Affairs Branch and other department employees, as well as media representatives, external stakeholders and the general public; analyze and forecast situations and data accurately, take independent action; and make sound decisions. The incumbent must also have the ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships and work independently or as part of the team. The incumbent must maintain consistent and regular attendance to meet work commitments.
